Have we gone mad?

Have we filled deserts, that no longer dust blows our side? Has the population got out of hand to the point where we had to create more land? Please some tell me that we have filled the inner side of our countries and started expanding vertical horizontal and in every God give direction, and this is why most of GCC countries are coming up with:

Please look at the map and tell me, when are we ever to invest space the right way? Some might bring up the word investment to the discussion. If it is, then build more of'em in fact lets bury the sea between us and Iran, I am just praying that it is anything other than a fad. Because there isn't a problem with fads spreading between high school kids, but you really have to start getting worried when Governments start putting fads into consideration.
